THE HISTORY

Slumber, a 1967 26’ Lyman Cruisette, was originally purchased by John Sutton from Amherst, Ohio. Dave Lobb (Northwest Classic Boats) had been looking for a Lyman for his wife Jeri (who has a love for Lymans), and he purchased the boat from John in 2007.

THE RESTORATION

Dave completed an extensive restoration on the boat including a transom replacement from the waterline down, stem, keel and keelson replacement along with all frames steam bent and replaced… plus much more.  The boat was repowered with a 496-8.1 375 hp Mercruiser coupled with a 1.33 to 1 Zebarth transmission, new shaft, coupler, rudder housing, rudder and propeller.

THE NAME

We purchased the boat in 2017 and renamed her Slumber which is derived from an old family business (Snell Lumber Company) that was established by my Mother’s family in Herkimer, New York (in the historic Mohawk Valley of Upstate New York). My Mother, Cornelia Snell Bensley, was delighted with our choice of names. We will be celebrating her 101st Birthday on September 24th!
