Lake Tahoe Concours d’Elegance Signs Four Year Contract with Obexer’s Boat Company

March 5, 2019

The Tahoe Yacht Club Foundation is thrilled to announce the Lake Tahoe Concours d’Elegance will be held at Obexer’s Boat Company for the next four years. The contract ensures the show will celebrate its 50th year of perpetual excellence in 2022 at the historic location on Lake Tahoe’s scenic West Shore.

The Lake Tahoe Concours d’Elegence and the Obexer’s Boat Company are a perfect pairing of maritime tradition. With a legacy that traces back to 1911, Obexer’s is steeped in the history of Lake Tahoe and wooden boats. Its wide-open, landscape views of the lake create an unsurpassed backdrop to display the works of art that are wooden boats.

“The Obexer Family and Staff are very proud to be hosting the Concours for another four years and into the 50th Anniversary!” says Darren Kramer, the General Manager of Obexer’s Boat Company. “As the Garwood Dealer since the 1920’s, wooden boat history holds a special place here at Obexer’s and all of the West Shore community. It’s an honor to have this prestigious event at our marina and to continue working with The Tahoe Yacht Club Foundation on something so special.”

The Lake Tahoe Concours d’Elegance has taken place at Obexer’s Boat Company since 2014. The venue has created a now iconic tradition at the show – the roar off under the Olson Bridge. The roar off has become the most highly anticipated and photographed part of the Lake Tahoe Concours d’Elegance.

TYCF Board President Doug Ball says “The Tahoe Yacht Club Foundation is extremely happy to be able to extend our working relationship with Obexer’s for another four years. Their facilities, staff and support have allowed us to present a world class wooden boat show on the West Shore of Lake Tahoe over the last four years and we look forward to building on that success starting with this year’s show.”

The 47th annual Lake Tahoe Concours d’Elegance takes place at Obexer’s Boat Company in Homewood, California August 9th and 10th, 2019.
