THE HISTORY

The Mary Lou is a 1958 Mercury Mustang utility ski boat.  She was built in Lake Piru, California, by the Mercury Boat Company and delivered brand new to Obexer’s in Homewood.  That year my father bought the boat from J. P. Obexer for $3,290. Since then, it has been our family boat for four generations.

RARE SIGHTING

The Mary Lou is a unique vessel.   I have never seen another except for a 16-foot Sabre, which won 1st in Class at the Lake Tahoe Concours d’Elegance a few years back.

OBEXER'S RECENT RESTORATION

We have had a lot of good times boating and skiing with the family on the Mary Lou.   It is a great example of fine boat building!  This beautiful boat just went through a complete restoration at Obexer’s this winter.  The results of that restoration is an excellent example of fine workmanship by the employees at that company.  The results exceeded my expectations.

TRUE TO TAHOE

Mary Lou is a “true Lake Tahoe” vessel.  The boat has never left the lake in 62 years.
