Tip 2 – Visit the Wine Village

The Concours wine village is among the most popular attractions at the show.   For $25 ($30 day of) guests will be able to sample more than 40 different wines unique to the Western United Stats.   The village is an exclusive luxurious shaded festival tent.  Guests will be able to come-and-go throughout the day and will receive a commemorative stemless Concours wine glass.  Taste them all, or find one you like and sample it the rest of your day.  Bottles will be available for purchase.   The wine village will be highlighted by one of the show’s main sponsors Highway 12 Winery located in California’s premier wine corridor, Sonoma Valley.

Tip 3 –  Stop By Tahoe Luxury Properties Booth

Tahoe Luxury Properties, for the fourth straight year, is Lake Tahoe Concours largest sponsor.  Tahoe Luxury Properties is recognized for the unparalleled quality and variety of their homes and seasoned team of Tahoe-based vacation and real estate specialists.  Stop by their booth,  shop their selection of homes or plan your next Tahoe trip in one of their 160 vacation rentals.

Tip 4 – Enjoy The Music and Food

The sites, sounds and smell of the Lake Tahoe Concours is an experience you must have in person.  Sit back, relax and enjoy.  It will be a weekend to remember.  The live music will be provided by NCTM and BMI recording artist Erika Paul.  Her smooth & soulful jazz band will play throughout weekend.  Grab a beverage, a chair or even the dance floor, and take in the full backdrop of Lake Tahoe below it’s mountainscape.

The Lake Tahoe Concours food court will be catered by Truckee based High Pointe Catering.  Their fresh menu and grill will change from one day to the next and it will be fantastic.

Tip 5 –  Hang Out in The Niello Porsche Booth

Niello Porsche is the single longest privately owned and operated Porsche franchise in the country, and this event would not be the same without their sponsorship.  Their 60′ tent will a feature prime viewing experience of the Obexer’s marina and the Lake Tahoe Concours boat selection.  Niello prides themselves on building a viewing platform which allows guests to relax in their tent, enjoy the show among eight of their finest Porsche vehicles.

Niello Porsche also provides a vehicle which will tow a newly refurbished trailer (courtesy of Niello Porsche) that keeps people moving to and from the show’s parking areas.
Tip 6 – Grab a Program and Take Your Time Viewing the Boats Around the Marina

Everyone who comes to the show will receive a commemorative program.  This program is crammed full of the unique stories, history and facts about each boat in the show.  To see the rich mahogany reflecting off of Tahoe’s blue waters will be a view unlike anything you’ll see anywhere else, but learning why these boats are among the most elegant and historic boats in the world will be an experience you’ll never forget.

Tip 7Make Your Way into Obexer’s Deli

Sure Obexer’s is the most historic marina in Tahoe and the first place wooden boats were introduced to Lake Tahoe, but have you been to their deli? If you have not, it’s a must.  Featuring an outstanding breakfast menu and custom craft sandwiches, this deli is a Lake Tahoe legend.

Tip 8 – Introducing the Gold Key Lounge

Gold Key has been the Lake Tahoe Concours most loyal major sponsor.  Each year they showcase the

Concours’ extraordinary perpetual trophies for the general public to view.  In 2011, they introduced their own perpetual trophy, The Best Preserved Boat,  and is scored by the Concours national judging panel.
This year they have really stepped it up.  They are moving into a 900 square foot tent that will allow guests to kick back and relax inside their lounge that will truly embody the Concours style. The Gold Key Lounge will feature free samples of Pilar Rum cocktails and an environment that will provide premium views of Lake Tahoe, the marina and the boats.

Tip 9 – Be There For Saturday’s Roar Off

This is a crowd favorite and the grand finale of the weekend. Thousands gather around the docs of Obexer’s to watch each of the boats on display fire up and drive off in to the landscape of Lake Tahoe.  It is truly a spectacle of elegance, power and anxiety.  It’s a tight fit and it takes highly skilled drivers to maneuver around the docs and past the collection of invaluable boats.

Tip 10Dress for Summer Sunshine!

Lake Tahoe is one of the most recognized vacation destinations in the world and there isn’t much that can compare to the summer air of Lake Tahoe.  The forecast for this weekend in Homewood, California could not set a better stage for the show!   Sunny skies and highs in the low 80’s.

Tip 11 – Visit the All New Tahoe Maritime Museum

The Tahoe Maritime Museum is a place of preservation to Lake Tahoe’s rich maritime history. Many supporters from Tahoe and beyond donated artifacts, funding and countless hours to help the non-profit achieve its ambitious mission: to stimulate an interest in, increase knowledge of, and maintain watercraft and marine artifacts significant in Lake Tahoe’s maritime history through the highest standards of historic preservation, innovative interpretation and public education.

The museum recently moved to its new location, the former 10-acre Tahoe Tree Company nursery in Tahoe City, Calif. The property has quickly become a destination for special events.  The Tahoe Maritime Museum is an intimate location, one where you will be entertained with the stories behind the boats and the owners.
