The 44th Lake Tahoe Concours, August 12 & 13, will showcase more than sixty of the finest wooden boats in the country. However, The Concours experience offers a wide range of social events and activities throughout the week making it the premier wooden boat show in Northern America.
1. Thursday August 11th, 6pm
The Opening Night Gala
The Opening Gala kicks off the wooden boat week with an evening of history, food, wine, art, music and elegance in the all new Tahoe Maritime Museum. The Tahoe Maritime Museum is an intimate location, one where you will be entertained with the stories behind the boats and the owners. The Opening Night Gala also features wine, four-star cuisine, music and the work of Jay Thelin and Randall Stauss. Thelin’s sculptures are created using the parts and pieces of old woodies. These sculptures will be paired with the beautiful paintings Stauss has done of some of Tahoe’s most famous antique boats.

2. Friday Night August 12th, 6pm
The Exhibitors’ Barbecue and Awards Presentation
This event is an annual sell out! With our Concours boats, their highly anxious owners and Lake Tahoe as the backdrop, we invite our exhibitors, judges and you to enjoy cocktails and gourmet barbecue lakeside overlooking Obexer’s Marina, followed by the 2016 Lake Tahoe Concours d’Elegance Awards Presentation.
The BBQ is limited to the first 500 people. Reservations are $50 for Adults and $25 for kids.

3. Friday August 12 & Saturday August 13th The Field Of Dreams
The Lake Tahoe Concours d’Elegance will once again feature the Field of Dreams boat for sale yard at this year’s show. The Field of Dreams will be located at Obexer’s Boat Company adjacent to the launching ramp and just a few yards from the show!
Space for boat sales can be purchased for $125. Placement will be determined by boat size. Registration is very limited and includes two – 2 Day passes to the Lake Tahoe Concours d’Elegance.

4. Saturday August 12th
Farm to Peak
Although, not an official event of the Lake Tahoe Concours, this dinner has become a partner of the show. With the schedule open Saturday night, the Farm to Peak may be the perfect filler. Take the chairlift to the top of Homewood Mountain, then dine on exquisite seasonal cuisine. Guests will experience an exclusive dinner designed by West Shore Cafe’s Chef de Cuisine, Ben Deinken that incorporates the freshest seasonal and locally-sourced ingredients.

The Concours Wine Village
Headlined by Highway 12 Winery, relax in the shade, get your commemorative Concours wine glass and sample more than 30 different wines from all over the Western United States. You will be given access in and out of the Wine Village throughout the day. Space is limited, hurry and get your wine village tickets today. You will have the option to purchase full bottles of your favorite wines inside the village. This will sell out. Must have show tickets to access wine village.

6. NEW! Saturday August 13th, 4pm
Access to the Olson Bridge!
Get the view of a lifetime a top the Olson Bridge. Twenty lucky ticket buyers will have exclusive access a top the temporary steel bridge that connects historic Obexers Marina. Your view will overlook the shows grand finale as the rarest boats in the world roar off underneath your feet into the blue waters of Lake Tahoe. Your tickets will not only include exclusive viewing access, but also a bottle of Highway 12’s finest reserve red wine blend set inside a personal Lake Tahoe Concours wine tote. Proceeds benefit the Tahoe Yacht Club Foundations Maritime beneficiaries. Show ticket required.

The Ladies Luncheon & Fashion Show
Whether you are coming by car or boat, casual dress and low-heeled shoes are recommended for your comfort on the sprawling lawn of our hosts’ home at 4820 West Lake Blvd. in historic Homewood just a short distance north of Turner’s Playtime, home of the Men’s Grill. Enjoy this mid-day catered affair by Melanie Jackson, accompanied by wine and the newest fashions from Summit Sierra Mall’s Chico’s Boutique.
8. Sunday August 14th, Noon
The Men’s Grill
The tradition continues as we honor our late friend, Tahoe Yacht Club Staff Commodore Howard Turner, with the Men’s Grill at “Playtime”. It’s guaranteed to be a laid-back afternoon to relax and enjoy the view from lakefront lawn, along with hosted bar and barbecue lunch catered by Melanie Jackson.
9. Monday August 15th, 8:30am
Woodie Over The Bottom
This year’s 26th annual event will be open to the Lake Tahoe boating community.
The Tahoe Yacht Club invites the Concours d’Elegance participants to join them for Woodie Over the Bottom, a part of the Tahoe Yacht Club unique racing series.
The event will start at Obexers Boat Company in West Shore Lake Tahoe at 9:00 AM with an 8:30 AM check in time and end at the Tahoe City Marina.
Awards for winners in each of the two groups will be presented back at the TYC clubhouse during a light brunch celebration that begins directly following the race at 10:30am.
For this event, the $35 fee is for the race event only. Captains and crew will contribute $20 each at the door for brunch that will include Bloody Mary and Mimosa bar. The bar will be giving each boat two free drink tickets for the Mimosa and Bloody Mary Bar only. Any other drinks will not be included in the price for this event.
10. Tuesday August 16th, 6pm
All Concours d’Elegance attendees and wood boat enthusiasts are invited to a potluck BBQ outdoors at the Lake Tahoe Gatekeeper’s Museum. Bring your picnic set with your meat for the grill and a side dish or dessert to share. Tahoe Yacht Club provides the BBQ grill and cold beer & wine.
We’ll have Corn Hole competitions to keep you busy before and after dinner while we wait for it to get dark enough for the show on the outdoor screen. Be sure to bring an extra layer for when the air cools off, and bring blankets and low back chairs for watching the big screen.
Prizes for the best table decoration and the winning Corn Hole team.
This year’s show will include pictures from all the Wooden Boat Week events along with drone video to show us highlights from the air.
Your ticket entitles you to a CD containing the Mahogany Magic show, to be shared or enjoyed at home for many years to come.
