The 45th Annual Concours d’Elegance – More Than A Boat Show

The Lake Tahoe Concours d’Elegance celebrates its 45th year of perpetual excellence August 11th and 12th at the historic Obexer’s Boat Company in scenic Homewood, California. The showcase of the most well-known and treasured wooden boats in the world is the longest running boat show on Lake Tahoe. Presented by the Tahoe Yacht Club Foundation, the Concours d’Elegance is known as a nationally acclaimed display of iconic wooden boats, however IT IS SO MUCH MORE!

The Concours hosts a wide range of annual sell out events from August 10th – August 13th offering classic boat enthusiasts an experience they will never forget.

It all begins on the elegant landscape of the all new Tahoe Maritime Museum Thursday August 10th at 5pm.  Guests will get to step back in time with the rich Tahoe history set as backdrop while enjoying cocktails, live music, dancing, a silent auction, wine and a fabulous dinner under the pines of Lake Tahoe. We encourage guests to make reservations sooner than later as seating is limited to the first 200.  Reservations are $145 per person.

Get out of the sun and pick up your commemorative Concours wine glass to sample a wide array of wines from all over the country.  Each day from 11am – 4pm at Obexer’s Boat Company, you will be given access in and out of the Wine Village throughout the day. Space is limited, but your samples are not.  Hurry and purchase your tickets before it sells out. Tickets are only $25 each. (Concours show tickets are required)

The event is an annual sell out that takes place Friday night, August 11th at 6pm!  With our Concours boats and their highly anxious owners setting the stage, we invite our exhibitors, judges, and you to enjoy a gourmet barbecue lakeside overlooking Obexer’s Marina, followed by the 2017 Lake Tahoe Concours d’Elegance awards presentation.  (Note: the “People’s Choice” trophy will be presented Saturday afternoon at the conclusion of the show).

Reservations are $55 for adults and $25 for children 6-12 years.

Saturday, August 12th, once again, the day is packed with activities including vendor shopping, food, beverages, live music, and the Wine Village. The “People’s Choice” winner will be presented at 4pm followed by the crowd favorite, “Roar off’, a showcase of the rarest boats in the world firing their engines and exiting out into the blue waters of Lake Tahoe. Exclusive VIP tickets are available atop the Olson Bridge overlooking the show’s grand finale as the boats leave the marina directly under your feet.

The tradition continues, Sunday August 13th at Noon, as we honor our late friend, Tahoe Yacht Club Staff Commodore, Howard Turner.  Hosted annually on the pristine lakeside landscape of Turner’s “Playtime” estate at 4860 West Lake Blvd, the Men’s Grill is guaranteed to be a laid back afternoon to relax and enjoy the Tahoe summer air, a hosted bar and an old-fashioned backyard barbecue catered by Melanie Jackson.

Reservations are $50 per person.

On Sunday August 13th at 11:30, whether coming by car or boat, casual dress and low-heeled shoes are recommended for your comfort on the sprawling lawn of our host’s home at 4280 West Lake Blvd.  Set on the lake and against the majestic pines of Homewood, California, this lunch is just a short distance north of the host location of the Men’s Grill.  Enjoy this mid-day affair with wine and the taste of one of Tahoe’s most renowned caterer’s cuisine, Melanie Jackson.

Reservations are $65 per person.

Each one of these social events sell out annually. We are encouraging guests to purchase their reservations as soon as possible.  Please visit LakeTahoeConcours.com to make reservations today.
